EV Charging Point
Electric vehicles have become one of the more effective ways for consumers and businesses alike to reduce their carbon footprint.
Many supermarket chains in the UK have started to introduce them to their fleets of delivery vehicles and require an energy monitoring solution to measure their impact.
With our extensive experience and in house knowledge of metering, we were engaged on a project by a major UK retailer to monitor the energy consumption of their electric vehicle Charging Points as a whole within one of their Distribution Centres.
Upon a detailed site survey by our Cura Energy Engineers, it was found that 22 x Mennekes sockets are being fed from two new distribution boards within the warehouse area
The Client required the two distribution boards to be monitored as a whole rather than individually. Our Engineers proceeded to install an electrical sub meter to each of the distribution boards which were then connected to a data logging device enabling the Client to review their data remotely
This major UK retailer can now access their data for these charging points remotely. The Client can effectively interpret their energy data using enhanced analytics that will allow them to make informed business investment decisions in the future relating to their vehicle fleet.
Just 12 electric vans save some retailers 57 tonnes of carbon a year. This reform of delivery fleets is a great step for any business and its decarbonisation goals!
