Prioritising the health of our Team...
At Cura, we recognise the importance of maintaining not just physical health, but we understand and actively promote a healthy balance of our mental health too.
We are proud to offer wellbeing treatments to Our Team once a month as we find that it encourages:

Where does your passion for wellness/mindfulness stem from?
Personal experience. When I was 16, as treatment for a migraine, I had my first reflexology treatment. It was the first thing that really helped and inspired me to pursue this as a career.
After looking at a range of career options at school, I initially decided to study Public Health at University. I then worked in public health for 12 years and it’s only when I had my children that this became a career change. I thought: ‘why not take the leap? Everything is already changing massively, let’s change things some more!’
Most of why I do it is because I want to share what has helped me with other people. I have found lots of personal benefit from mindfulness techniques, relaxation techniques, massage, and reflexology, so it’s about sharing that.
What services do you offer?
Predominantly reflexology with a little bit of Indian head massage. I also offer mindfulness meditation and relaxation classes where I’ll either run hour-long sessions at the place I work or I will run bespoke sessions in places, for example: councils, schools, private companies, etc.
The bespoke sessions can be interesting as depending on what their needs are, who is interested and what they want to get out of it, I can create something completely personalised to them.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
Helping people to feel better and become more self-aware.
I think all of us (including myself) have been guilty at some point in our lives of just keeping on going, not realising how much we need to stop and take a break and getting ourselves into a bit of a rut. Knowing that my treatments have had a part to play in making people feel better is a great feeling.
What do you think about Cura Energy doing this for their staff?
I think it’s brilliant. It’s not something that you see very often!
When I was working in public health, you’d get companies that were really interested in doing things for their staff’s health and wellbeing, like: healthy eating initiatives or trying to encourage active meetings, but I think that Cura has taken this a step further.
It’s a nice work environment too. Even down to the smaller touches like having the plants in the workplace - there is a wealth of evidence around the positive correlation between mental/physical wellbeing and having plants in your workspace/home space. It’s been proven to benefit you.
From the plants to the treatments, I get the feeling that Cura is a company which really prioritises the wellbeing of their Team – which is a great thing.

What do you think are the benefits of these treatments for people in the workplace specifically?
For a start, I think that for some people this is a way to try a treatment. A lot of people might not think about it were it not suggested to them! It’s an opportunity for people to try new things.
It’s also nice for the team to feel that there is an acceptance around this; to know that people might need this and that it’s OK to need it!
Then from a business point of view, if you look after your team, they’re going to be more productive and feel even more valued.
